Expertise of the organisation

The Department of Public Health of Erasmus MC is located at the university medical centre in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Department is involved in teaching in public health, both at graduate and as well as post-graduate level (through the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences, which runs one of the largest European post-graduate programmes in epidemiology and public health). It has an extensive track record in international research with an annual output of over 200 peer-reviewed papers per year and its excellence is demonstrated by regular publications in top medical journals. The core mission of the Department is to contribute to improved population health, both in the Netherlands and elsewhere, through its research and teaching activities.

Role in the project

This partner is responsible for the epidemiological analysis of case-control studies for cumulative EDC exposure; and also participates in the delivery of human tissue specimens and in reviewing human biomonitoring strategies to evaluate how exposure to combinations of pollutants is dealt with in other fields of study.
